Closing Tracker privacy.
Messages are encrypted on the phone. Our relay passes them along and can’t read them.
Draft — pending legal review
What stays on the phones
Checklists, staff first names, notes, numbers entered, photos and closing reports live on the phones in your shop. They travel between those phones end-to-end encrypted with your shop’s key, which never leaves the phones.
We never collect an account, your name, your phone number or your email. Staff join with a first name only.
What our relay can see
The relay is a small service on hardware we own and run ourselves. It passes sealed messages between your phones, watches closing deadlines and sends the alerts.
| The relay can read | The relay never sees in readable form |
|---|---|
| Random shop and device IDs, each phone’s platform, and the codes Apple and Google use to deliver alerts | Staff names |
| The shop label you chose | Checklist item text |
| Time zone, open days, deadlines, grace period and closed dates | Notes, numbers entered and issue descriptions |
| Closing status: started, how many items are done, finish time, issue count, late or on time | Photos |
| When a gift card code was used, and which salesperson gave out that card | Your name, phone or email (never collected) |
| The size and time of each message | Your shop’s encryption key |
How long the relay keeps it
- A message is deleted as soon as every phone it’s for has received it. A message that can’t be delivered is dropped after 14 days.
- Closing status is kept for 45 days, so a late report can still correct an alert, then deleted.
- Delete shop, in the owner’s app, wipes everything the relay holds for your shop right away.
- We keep a nightly encrypted backup of the relay’s own records, which hold only what’s in the left column above.
Alerts on your lock screen
Alerts go through Apple’s or Google’s notification service. They carry only the status, counts, times and your shop label, such as “Closing complete, 9:48 pm. No issues.” Names, checklist items, notes and photos never appear in an alert; you see them only inside the app.
